If you've been mountain biking in the Ballyhoura area of south Limerick then you will probably have driven through Kilfinnane and Ballyorgan. Today we visited a number of graveyards in preparation for a project which will commence in April with the Ballyhoura LEADER Partnership. We recorded the RC church bells in Kilfinnane and the rooks in the trees above the late medieval church ruin. We then went up to Ballydonohue or Kilflynn, outside Ballyorgan which is (I think) a Methodist graveyard filled with ancestors of Palatine planters from the 18th century. The graveyard is carpeted with beechnut and a stream runs by at the bottom of the hill.
