The Connaught Journal. February 23rd. (1832). Died. "Yesterday morning, after a few days illness, in Bridge Street, Master Wallace, organist and musician to the new Episcopal Chapel of St. Nicholas in this town... a youth of considerable promise, we should have said a boy of extraordinary attainments who held out of his affectionate parents and friends, every hope that at no distant period he would have realized their foundest expectations... but the rose has been "nipped even in the very shoot", and the strongest oak of the forest must share the same fate". The Galway Weekly Advertiser. February 25th. (1832) gives the same death notice, except it quotes "Wednesday" instead of "Yesterday". See also obituary for Athur Wallace in The Galway Weekly Advertiser. January 26th. (1833). "Died Wallace Arthur On the 15th instant at Headford... (by the bursting of a blood vessel), Arthur Wallace, aged 15 years."... He was next brother to the highly talented young whose early and lamented death we notice with the deepest regret but a few short months since”.
