A large table-tomb with a white marble top which subsided and was later straightenend by inserting a large wedge of stone on top of the original slab of limestone (which is now obscured). The original monument was also a table-tomb topped with a large Rect. R.S.. Part of the inscription reading "THESSOLONIANS IV; 14;" is the same quotation as one of those found on the added "replacement" slab, which is also a large recumbent one with an Ins. in block capitals of various sizes. The Inc'd. Ins. is drilled with circular holes to take lead lettering. Part of only twenty-one of the leaded letters survive on the inscribed surface. The Ins. on the original slab is Inc'd. only, but not leaded. A short leaded Ins. giving the maker's name "LETTOPPS (or LET HORPS?) DUBLIN" occurs on the right side of the top edge of the stone. See also No. 379, another monument (in the church) to Lachlan MacLachlan.
