In Memory of Eliza youngest daughter of William Tynte Austen Esqr who fell asleep in Jesus on the 17th January 1843 aged 45 year(s). When Christ who is our Life shall appear Then shall ye also appear with him in glory Collossians, 3.4 also in memory of her Mother Christian relict of William Tynte Austen Esqr who departed this life on The 17th of August 1852 in the 95th Year of her age.
A large Rect. R.S. with a single-line border at the edge of the stone. Inc'd. Ins. The Biblical quotation is from Colossians Chapter 3, Verse 4. In the Bur. Reed. Vol. 2 (1843) the first deceased is referred to as Eliza Austin (Austen on the stone). The 4s of the date 1843 and of the age 45 look like 2s but are actually 4s. These can be contrasted with the 2 of the date 1852 further down the slab. The age given in the Burial Record for the deceased is 46 while 45 is given on the stone. These Austins seem to be related to Clayton Joseph Love and Emilia Austin of Rose Cottage, Co. Cork, who were married on the 24th of May 1838. (See The Freeman's Journal!. See also No. 250 (Love). See Nos. 357 and 358 for the Shones who are related.
