Sacred to the memory of Arthur Helsham, late Major of the Kilkenny Fusileers
eldest son of John Helsham of Leggastrath near this city
He departed this life on the 11th day of May 1861 aged 75 years
Moratl remains are laid in the burial ground of St John's near Exmouth
He died resting on a crucified and risen saviour as only hope therefore his end was peace.

This tablet is placed here, by his sorrowing widow to record
her sense of the worth and excellence of her departed husband.
