Revd.John A. Canon Barry together with Revd. Murtough Keane and Revd. J.P.Clancy were buried in the Church yard in the village of New Glanmire now Glounthaune Village.

They were re-interred in this Church grounds to allow for the construction of the school now the community centre.

A plaque regarding Revd.John A. Canon Barry is erected over the inside of the Northern side door of the Church. The inscription says:

                            of your charity

            pray for the repose of the soul of the

           Revd.John Aloysius Canon Barry P.P.

         Glounthaune and Knockraha 1880-1895

                    who left a large bequest

                for the building of this Church

                    and by whose donation

              the centre stained glass window

                       over the high alter

           and the windows of the side chapels

                      have been erected

            Eternal rest grant unto him o,Lord,

            and let perpetual light shine on him.
