Beneath are interred the remains/ of Richard Furniss late of this City/ Architect and Builder,/ who departed this life 1st March 1856/ aged 79 years/ also his beloved wife Mary Furniss/ who died 8th September 1857/ aged 68 years/ also their children/ William who died 11th November 1850/ Jane who died 25th January 1851/ James who died 16th July 1836/ They are not dead but sleepeth
Cuboid pedestal tomb comprising three tiers: a stylised pediment over a trapezoidal text panel which sits on a stepped plinth. The inscribed stone has a simple urn in relief within an ovoid recessed panel and abstract decoration in the corners - all within an incised border. The north and south sides are chamfered. The top stone has been reaffixed with concrete.
