Roscam ecclesiastical settlement ( GA094-072002-) is located on the N shore at the mouth of Oranmore Bay. The ecclesiastical site is reputedly associated with St Patrick. It is a well-preserved D-shaped enclosure (N-S 200m, E-W 190m) defined by a massive drystone wall (Wth 4.5m, H 1.5m). At E is a modern entrance, possibly on the site of the original, with a triangular-headed sheep-gap (now collapsed) to S of it . The interior contains a church (GA094-072001-), round tower (GA094-072004-), graveyard (GA094-072003-), two medieval graveslabs (GA094-072005- & 006-), a holed stone (GA094-072007-) and two multiple bullauns (GA094-072008- & 009-). The latter are regarded locally as holy wells but are marked on OS 6-inch maps as 'Penitential Station'.
