Here lies the body of Nicholas Cokrell Esq/ Captain Lieut in the 67th Regiment of Foot who having escapd/ The dangers of five Campaigns in Germany was carried off/ By a fever after a few days illness on the 23rd of July/ 1767 in the 28th year of his age./ He lived beloved and esteemed for his many/ Virtues and amiable qualities in every station of life/ He ever filled and died sincerely lamented by/ Every person who knew him particularly/ By his lately happy brother and his mother/ Who caused this Tome to be erected./ ---- ---- ---- ---- ----/ However ---- ---- largely send/ He gave to m--- ----/ He gained from --- ---/ No ---- ---- ---- ----/ There they ---- repose ----/ The B--- ---- ---- thy God.
