O Lord have Mercy on

the soul of patrick Cananon who

dept. decemb. 11th, 1826 aged 33 yrs

ye wandering way worn sojournours attend

the death of our neighbor and loss of our friend

who lived much beloved but lamented lies here

till the Great Judgment day when we all must

Appear. An affectionate father and dutyful son

No husband more kind since the world began

No brother more loyal was ever yet known

than patrick the brave who lies under this

Stone. Here dwell but his dust which we now

Shall revere. His soul gone a loft a last Glory

to share. His life he Resigned in a watery bed

and here lies intered with this stone at his head.

He now bids a dew to the world wide scope

And dwels a midst legions of angels i hope.
