Owen was a retired Garda Sergeant, Castlecomer. Was a successful breeder and trainer of greyhounds
Mulrooneys had lived there before Owen purchased it and Hoynes before that. Mrs Hoyne was the P. P's. housekeeper. The property was owned by Tony Lennon, Knockroe then. Before that it belonged to Downey's, Patrick and Nicholas were the family names. The last one known as "The Boss Paddy" is commemorated on Grave no 099
