ELIZABETH, WIFE OF THE REVD DANL FOLEY, DIED APRIL 9th 1863, AGED 60 YEARS THIS MONUMENT WAS ERECTED BY THE TEACHERS AND SCHOLARS OF THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CONNECTED WITH THIS CHURCH, OF WHICH SHE WAS THE BELOVED SUPERINTENDENT, AS A MEMORIAL OF THEIR GRATEFUL REGARD AND OF A LIFE UNWEARIED IN ACTIVE BENEVOLENCE. HER BEST ENERGIES WERE ESPECIALLY DEVOTED TO THE INSTRUCTION OF THE YOUNG IN THE TRUTHS AND DUTIES OF THE GOSPEL, A LABOUR OF LOVE, IN WHICH SHE PERSEVERED, FOR UPWARDS OF FORTY YEARS WITH A ZEAL AND ASSIDUITY SELDOM SURPASSED. HER SOCIAL AFFECTIONS SANCTIFIED BY THE GRACE OF GOD HER SAVIOUR PRODUCED IN HER A TENDERNESS OF SPIRIT AND AN OUTFLOW OF CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY THAT EXEMPLIFIED, IN AN EMINENT DEGREE, THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS AND THE AMIABLENESS OF GENUINE RELIGION . HER END WAS PEACE TRUSTING IN JESUS [By their fruits ye shall know them Matt, Chap VII. 20.] Little children, praise the Saviour, He regards you from above. Praise Him for His great salvation! Praise Him for His precious love! ROMANS Vm ROMAN
