Underneath this Stone are deposited the remains of the follow^e persons. Ins Forster late of the city of Dublin who died 20th July 1739 his wife Joanna Forster who died 3d Feby 1768 & their son Ja Forster Also Ins Forster who died 12th July 1799 aged 46 years his wife Ann Forster who died 1 July 1818 aged 73 years & their only son James Forster who died 22d Nov 1826 aged 36 years

Fleetwood Berry (1912 A), 6. He seems to give the Christian names on lines 3, 7 and 8 as Jns or Jms. The obituary in The Galway Weekly Advertiser. November 25th. (1826) is worth quoting. "Died, of typhus fever, on Wednesday morning last, in the 37th year of his age, James Forster of Galway, Esq. He was a strenuous advocate of the religion of the Bible, and embraced every prudent opportunity of dropping a word in its favour. Impressed by its importance himself he was ever anxious to invite it to the attention of others.... His last illness only continued for ten days, during which time he fully anticipated that change which he had undergone, and with an unalterable confidence in the love and merits of Jesus alone; he was fully resigned to the will of Him who is the disposer of human affairs...".
