Minister of St. Mary's Kilkenny/ and rector of Odogh diocese of Ossory./ Founder of the Church of England Society House./ The Lees Lane poor house etc./ who entered into his rest on 23rd April 1841/ in the 63rd year of his age and 42nd of his ministry./ Gifted with qualifications of no ordinary character for the work of the gospel./ He consecrated them all with holy zeal./ To the service of his Divine Master/ in his Public Ministrations with eloquent fervor/ kindled by his love for the souls of his fellow creatures/ did he preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified/ as the sinners only hope./ While in his parochial visitations of private life/ he was a 'living epistle' of the doctrines that he taught/ for he was a good man and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith;/ and (through his ministry)/ much people was added unto the Lord./ Acts XL 24
Mural plaque of an elongated triangular slab resting on a black-marble cornice which surmounts a trapezoidal inscribed panel in white marble. An elaborate urn rests on the cornice. The inscription tablet is flanked on either side by volutes and rests above the apron, which is decorated in white marble with an heraldic shield of Roe.
