Martin Cahill was an RIC officer in Millstreet from about 1901 to 1920. Originally from Clare, he married Ellen Buckley from Derrinagree. They had 17 children, and lived at Minor Row in Millstreet

Bernard died May 13th 1901 (aged 4 months)
Josephine died on September 20th 1905Agnes died on October 16th 1909 (aged 9 months)
Teresa Cahill died on December 17th 1912

Five more of their children had died before 1901 in Union Hall

His wife Ellen Cahill (Buckley) died on May 26th 1923
