Patrick Grace, Maudlin, age 30, son of Michael, married Mary Carter, Grange Hill, Clough, age 27, daughter of Edmund Carter, 20/5/1869
This family had Maudlin Stores. The Graces were natives of Maudlin. It was next owned by Tom Bergin, Castlecomer. Mrs Ayres owned it next and she went to live with Tommy Downey, Tinalinton / Little Hills, she was a Comerford, Coolbaun, and related. New owners were Paddy and Willy Brennan, "Brennans of the Lough" Ballycallan, Co Kilkenny. Tommy Naughton, son of a Garda in Kilkenny who came from Roscommon, worked for the Brennans. Paddy's parting word to his customers was "yes indeed, true true, thanks alot". Then Pat Holohan bought it followed by Paddy Healy Newtown in Conahy Parish. Pat Holohan moved up the road to a farm previously owned by "The Marshall Mahers"
