Michael  Torpey (1908-1993) of this memorial, was born on the 25-07-1908 in Darnstown, Emlygrennan, Co. Limerick, the youngest child of ten born to parents Michael Torpey (1853-1927) & Mary Nolan (1862-1943) who were married in Bulgaden RC, Co. Limerick on the 07-10-1883.

Siblings of Michael Torpey (1908-1993) were Patrick 1884-1886, John 1886-1886, Mary 1887, Catherine 1889,, Hanora 1892, Michael 1894-1900, Bridget 1896, Edmond 1902-1963 & Margaret (Maggie) 1906-1957

Michael  Torpey (1908-1993) married Hanora ( Nora ) McCarthy (1905-1994), daughter of James McCarthy (1867-1936) & Hanora Wallace (1873-1957) of Ballycahill, Hospital, Co. Limerick on the 25-02-1936 in Hospital RC, Co. Limerick. Nora McCarthy was born on the 16-02-1905 in Ballycahill. Her parents were married on the 14-02-1899 in Hospital RC.

Children born to Michael Torpey  (1908-1993)  & Nora McCarthy (1905-1994)  were Michael 1936, James ( Jim ) 1940-2024, Mary 1941 & Hanora 1945.
