To the multitude of thy tender mercies on the soul of

Peter Burke who departed this life on the 18th day of December

1812 in the 32th year of his age This tomb was erected by his son Patrick

For him and his posterity requeisant in pace Amen

Beneath are deposited the remains of Patrick Burke

Merchant of this town he who erected this monument

He departed this life on the 29th day of April 1819 in the 33rd year

Of his age leaving an affectionate wife and children

To bemoan the loss of a tender parent and husband

May he rest in peace Amen
