Captain John Spencer
of the town of Youghal who
departed this life in the town
of Belfast in their Majesty’s servi
King William & Queen Mary, in the
year of Our Lord 1696, hath bequeathed
forever to the Protestant poor of
the parish of St.Mary’s Youghal the
sum of twenty shillings ste,g per
annum, to be raised out of the rents
of a meadow held by John Scamaden
and situate in the liberties of Yough
al, to be levied if need require by
distress, by the church wardens
for the time being, and distributed
every good Fryday, by the Minister
and wardens.
Without Holiness no man shall
see the Lord.
