In memory of

John Ward

late Sergeant in the 1st Dragoon Co,

a veteran of Waterloo

who died the 8th September 1852

aged 71 years.

He was distinguished as a fearless

and faithful soldier under the banner

of his countryAND for a number

of years he was no less distinguished

as a good and faithful soldier of the cross.

In his final conflict he was found ready.

Having fought the good fight

he finished his course in the calm

triumph of Christian faith.
