Dr St John Browne was prebendary, rector and vicar of Kilbrogan, rector & vicar of Murragh, rector of Killowen, chancellor of Ross & rector of Innishannon & Leighmoney. He married firstly Amelia St George of Kinsale & had issue: Rev Thomas Adderly Browne, chancellor of Ross, Rev St John Browne, scholar of Trinity College, Cambridge & Sir St George Sackville Browne, KCB, lieutenant general in the army. He married again in 1776, Mrs Elizabeth Hodder. In 1775 he was living in a substantial house on the site of Kilbrogan House. He died in 1796
