In the 1911 Census it is stated that the Lyons sisters Helena, age 7, and Hannah, age 5, lived on the farm in Ballyvongane with father Timothy, mother Elizabeth, brothers Jeremiah, John and Nelius, and sisters Bridget and Mary. Their brother Timothy may not have been born in 1911.

This family owned a pub in Bealnamorrive and were related to Mary Ellen Ring. They were also related to the Lyons family in Coolnasoon who were buried in an unmarked grave nearby. The Ballyvongane family previously lived in Shandangan.
