ERECTED BY
MICHAEL MURPHY
DOONISKEY
IN MEMORY OF HIS FATHER
DANIEL MURPHY
HIS MOTHER CATHERINE
AND HIS BROTHER WILLIAM
R. I. P.
This headstone was erected by Michael Murphy, Dooniskey. The 1901 Census records a Michael Murphy of Dooniskey, a farmer aged 58. Living with him were his wilfe Mary, 57, and his brother William, 60. As there is no date on the headstone it is uncertain whether this Michael Murphy is the one mentioned in this inscription though he may at least be a relation.
Other possible relations appear in the Parish Baptism Records, such as William, a son of Dl Murphy and Cathe Murphy, mentioned in 1839. In 1842, Michael, a son to Dan Murphy and Kate Murphy, is also recorded. Killinardrish was the address on William's baptism record. There was no address for Michael.
